3/12: BE Systems acquired by Blue Wave
As announced in Barcelona today, BE Systems is now owned by Blue Wave. The press release can be found here:http://www.elsmore.net/warren/blog.nsf/Downloads/WELE-79HKRN/$File/Bluewave%20press%20release%20FINAL.doc
In Domino blogging circles, this means that Warren Elsmore now works for Paul Mooney. These talented conference speakers, LUG organisers and Domino Administrators join forces. The combined company is also better able to serve its customers - which is what it's all about.
So congratulations to both companies!
24/3: Bush, Blair: "Mind your Ps and Qs"
I think privately both Blair and Bush would recognise that going into Iraq a second time was a mistake. I wouldn't expect either of them to admit that of course but I do hope that they can at least learn something from their mistakes.
We now have trouble with Iran. Perhaps the saying should be "Mind your Ns and Qs". Look before you Leap.
23/8: Fastest Diesel on the Planet
Congratulations go to JCB and their DieselMax team for winning the world land speed record for a diesel powered car. They broke the previous record by over 100mph achieving 328.767mph. It was a great achievement for JCB and for British Engineering. For those of you who don't know, my partner Julie works for JCB so I'm a little biased.
The team have been out on the Salt Flats in Utah following in the tyre tracks of Sir Malcolm Campbell and his son Donald.
Anyway, here's a picture of two JCBs. Can you guess which one got the record?
Update Thursday 24th August - Scratch that record, it's now 350.092mph. Apparently the car hasn't yet tried sixth gear so it sounds like there is more to come ...
25/1: Welcome
At last! Over the last few years, I had heard a lot about blogging but I'd never quite got it. Then I got hooked on a few of the Domino Bloggers' sites and decided that I'd give it a try. Now I don't expect many people to be reading this right now - but that's cool because it'll give me a chance to sort out what I'm doing!2006 seemed like a good year to start. The year England won the World Cup! OK, I can dream can't I?
I intend to add some articles showing some stuff I've developed in Domino with the code to go with it.
This site is courtesy of Steve Castledine and I thoroughly recommend his ProjectDX software. If it's good enough for Ed Brill, then it'll do for me too. It literally took me about half an hour to get it working and that was because I took my time.
As I get to know the software, I'll no doubt want to change some things but there's no point until I know what I'm doing.
